CHANDIGARH — The state government, boasting a track record of providing 67,037 government jobs since 2022, recently celebrated the ceremonial handing over of appointment letters to an additional 355 new employees. This latest recruitment drive, which brings the daily average of job creation to approximately 45 positions, was proudly affirmed as being 'purely on merit and transparency,' according to a government spokesperson.
The administration has highlighted its unique success in avoiding any court challenges to its appointments, contrasting sharply with a national context where 93 paper leaks have plagued recruitment processes since 2017. A party MP stated that the state's model serves as an example of how 'accountability' can be achieved by simply declaring it exists, rather than addressing systemic vulnerabilities.
Critics, however, suggest that while the focus remains on the quantity of jobs announced, crucial discussions about the quality of these positions, their long-term economic impact, and the actual proportion of eligible youth securing employment versus the total applicant pool are conspicuously absent.
An official reiterated that the unwavering commitment to 'zero paper leaks' allowed the state to deflect any uncomfortable comparisons to national failures, ensuring the public perception remains focused on the government's consistent ability to produce impressive job creation milestones, irrespective of broader systemic issues.
